OVERVIEW

Makalali Private Game Reserve is located close to the mighty Drakensberg mountains west of the Kruger Park. This ethnic bush retreat lies on 26 000 hectares of bushveld is home to over 1 000 wild animals including Africa’s Big 5. You will have the opportunity to get up-close and personal to these animals from the comfort of a fully-equipped, open-air, game drive vehicle.

Makalali River Lodge offers an elegantly refurbished lodge situated on the banks of the Makhutswi River. The lodge consists of three camps that have six luxury suites each. All the camps are private yet within easy access of one another, featuring a plunge pool, boma plus enclosed dining and lounge area.
